Project Description: Served as Team Leader for the creation of a simulation to be used in face to face and online political science classes to support students’ mastery of political science concepts and teamwork skills
ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE
LONE STAR COLLEGE-UNIVERSITY PARK, Houston, Texas 2012-Present
Professor, Political Science
ï Teaches freshman and sophomore Political Science/Government courses, specifically Federal Government and Introduction to Political Science as both face to face and online classes
ï Integrates technology into classroom curriculum, in both the in-person and online environment, to support student learning and encourage the development of engaged scholars.
ï Develops and presents engaging lectures to enrich the knowledge of students of the American political and governmental system as well as original syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials
ï Implements lessons for students in face to face, online, and teleweb learning environments
ï Directs, assesses, and evaluates the learning experience of students in line with the learning objectives established by system curriculum teams
ï Supports student success through advising, one on one enrichment, and counsel/guidance
ï Recruits and places students in internship opportunities within the field of Political Science through the administration of the Lone Star College-University Park Political Science Internship Program
ï Develops relationships with local government officials to create internship opportunities for students.
ï Maintains accurate student accounting records through applications available with the campus learning management system.
ï Serves as chair the system-wide Political Science Curriculum Team responsible for maintaining curriculum standards for the discipline within the college system.
